Welcome to Ashdown Riding
Ashdown Riding Ltd is located on Lower Misbourne Farm and has been an established riding school and hacking centre on the Ashdown Forest for over 40 years. The rides are superb. Situated right in the middle of beautiful and breathtaking countryside. The stables are tucked down a long farm track with the great advantage that there is absolutely no road work; you are surrounded by the Forest. Ashdown Riding has been a centre of great learning and fun. Here to share the instruction needed to progress into a great rider whether you have been riding for years or just beginning your journey. We have the sand school for safe instruction and the forest on our doorstep to expand your riding experience.
Tash, our Yard Manager and Chief Instructor, will be happy to take your bookings and will to be there through your riding journey. We have set out some options on our new online system but please, if there is something specific you are looking for please do pop us an email or a call and we will see what we can do for you.
Zoe our Groom and Instructor, looks foward to seeing you all! And please give a warm welcome to Ellen and Kira our new members of staff. Hope to see you soon! Thanks everyone for your support and we hope to continue this exciting journey together during an optomistic 2021.
What we do
Riding lessons
We currently offer riding lessons both privately and in a group. We have our own sand school in which you will be instructed by a qualified professional. Most will already know Tash and our newest arrival Zoe. Lessons can be enjoyed by seasoned riders trying to brush up on their skills or complete newbies wanting to learn a new sport. Come along and get into the saddle. Want to know more? Head over to the Riding lessons tab in the menu above.
Hacking out
What could be better than hacking out onto the Ashdown Forest with no road work involved. Safe, comfortable and just beautiful. From the stables position, we are able to walk straight onto the Forest. We believe this is one of the greatest areas of outstanding national beauty and its right on our door step. If you to want to hack out with us, feel free to book in and enjoy it for yourself. Want to know more? Have a look at the Hacking out tab in the menu above.
Pony Loans
We know pony’s are fun. More so for our younger generation as they are able to learn the basics safely. What could be better for our kids to loan a pony, to muck in to help maintain the pony’s environment and enjoy rides and lessons on their favourite animal. If your kids are interested in loaning a pony, please get in touch with Tash or any of the staff here to enquire. What a fantastic opportunity to learn horsemanship at its grass roots. Call Tash on this number: 07311810535.
